Job Title: New Product Development Executive

Purpose & Objectives of the job
To work as part of the New Product Development Team
Main duties or tasks of the employee
You will work closely with the Head of New Product Development and the Creative Director on the initial stages of development of a product, and with factories. Managing the input of all product information on a daily basis and recording the technical details on new products, Working with the designers and artwork to ensure all concepts are logged and progressed as they go to artwork and then production. Liaising with Far East and other factories before, during and after production; ensuring good and effective communication and prompt follow up of outstanding queries.
Reviewing PPS/production samples to ensure factories have actioned all comments.
Maintaining  and Managing licensees’ online approval platform - uploading and managing NPD Cads with their teams ensuring efficient communication of all comments and checking all amendments have been actioned. Sending PPS /production sample for comments/sign off. Liaising with the technical consultant to ensure they have uploaded the S&Q/Manufacturing components on the portals until approvals obtained.
General administration: creating product codes & barcodes, confirming descriptions, saving all artworks on the drive, saving and organising all technical files on the system and merging onto product management software for ongoing use.

• 3+ years’ product development experience.
• At least 2 years’ experience within the beauty industry.

• High levels of creativity and passion for the beauty industry.
• Experience of managing a full product life cycle

Job Title: Packaging and Product Designer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and fresh packaging and product designer to join our rapidly expanding team in the novelty beauty cosmetics sector. We work on our own designs as well as some huge exciting licenses.
 
 
You'll need to be up to date with upcoming high street trends and have an imagination that thinks outside the box. We aim for products that always have a fun spin to them and are always looking for innovative quirks to make us stand out from the crowd both design and packaging wise.
 
As a part of the team, you will be working on fast paced briefs right from initial concept through to artworking /completion and delivering creative solutions and structural packaging innovations across multiple accounts.
 
As well as basic computer skills, applicants should have a great knowledge of photoshop, illustrator and indesign with previous experience (minimum 3 years) in beauty packaging.
 
Working with factories, knowledge of different print based materials and finishes is a must as well as understanding working with brand licenses.
 
An eye for detail is key along with a common sense approach and a fun can do attitude.
 
Full Time Position

Job Title: Sales & Customer Services Coordinator 
Based Mad Beauty HQ – Watford  

We are an international fast-growing lifestyle brand that supplies products to well-known and much-loved retailers in the UK and worldwide including ASOS, Superdrug and Primark.  

We are searching for an organised and positive Sales & Customer Services Coordinator to join our rapidly expanding sales team.  

This is a pivotal role within the company and requires not just a confident, positive and proactive mindset but someone who is very organised with excellent customer services experience. We are a MAD bunch (it’s in our name) and looking for someone who is as serious as us about making cosmetics fun whatever your role in the company. We work hard to find the right people to fit in with our teams, you will need to build good relationships with your team and throughout Mad HQ. Our people are Mad Beauty.

You will provide the highest level of service to our customers, so you need to love speaking on the phone, have a calm and friendly approach, and the ability to resolve customer queries with confidence and intuition. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking, and keen to establish a career in this field. We want to stand out from the crowd as a supplier and make any contact with us an experience as unique as our products.  

What you will be doing 
  • Taking sales orders over the phone, advising stock availability, and proposing alternatives if applicable to maximise sales opportunities
  • Entering sales orders on to the system, creating orders and shipping confirmations
  • Answering customer queries such as credit notes, back orders, deliveries, etc
  • Sending out samples, information requests, inputting new accounts onto the inhouse system, producing sales reports, etc
  • Supporting customers with sales support material, imagery, samples requests, providing customer data and completing line forms
  • Maintaining product information files
  • Liaising with warehouse
  • Keeping orders and customer information on the system up to date and accurate at all times
  • Liaise with Credit Control regarding Proformas and any credit limit issues
  • Attend UK trade shows as required, being an active part of the sales team

 

You’ll have 

  • 2+ years’ experience in customer services or sales
  • 1+ years office experience
  • A quick learner with a positive, 'can do’ attitude
  • Keen to establish a career in this field and grow in the role
  • A great communicator with a personable approach and an excellent telephone manner
  • Highly organised and an expert multi-tasker
  • Proactive with the ability to act on your own initiative, whilst being a positive team member
  • Numerate, and proficient with Microsoft Office
  • General administrative duties, supporting the wider sales team
  • A team player, with a flexible approach – always willing to go the extra mile!

Job Title: Product Beauty Technologist 

Based Mad Beauty HQ – Watford 
 
 
We are an international rapidly expanding lifestyle brand that supplies products to well-known and much-loved retailers in the UK and worldwide including ASOS, Superdrug, Boots and Primark. 
 
We are searching for an experienced Product Beauty Technologist with a strong beauty/toiletries manufacturing background to join our fast-growing New Product Development team. 
This is a mid-level position so you must have at least 2+ years’ experience working within beauty compliance and have a huge passion for what you do.
Working as a Technologist you will be responsible for the product safety, quality and legality of the new product development as well as managing a breadth of product suppliers in the UK and sourcing from around the globe. As well as your product area you will support your manager to deliver the new product development plan and KPI’s.

What you will be doing 

  • Involvement with product development at initial stages so you are aware of future development plans and compliance requirements.
  • Obtaining and collating all data from factories for compliance purposes and building PIFs
  • Ensuring that the design team know of all compliance requirements for packaging.
  • Notifying the NPD and Design Team when artwork text needs to be amended.
  • Working with the external compliance agency, briefing new compliance requirements in them.
  • Working closely with the agency when deciding which tests are applicable to each product.
  • Managing and submitting safety and quality data to licensors’ approval platforms
  • Ensuring that all compliance is completed within required deadlines.
  • Keeping the product and wider team updating with important dates.
  • Ensuring that all information is accurate prior to final sign off stage from a compliance perspective.
  • Helping to organise pre-shipment inspections.
  • Obtaining all testing documentation and logging this accurately on the in-house system and ensuring Product Information Files are accurate and complete.
  • Providing compliance information to retailers when required. 

 

You’ll have

  • 3+ years of experience within a product technologist position
  • 2+ years of experience within beauty compliance.
  • An understanding of beauty manufacturing processes & INCI 
  • An understanding of formulation would be useful but this is not a formulation position.
  • The ability to manage a number of different tasks at once and to be able to monitor and control multiple product test results and schedules.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
